Ciao!

Ciao everybody!  It is 10:50pm in Rome (and probably my bedtime) and 3:50pm back home.  Lets start by saying--non the less--thank you, from the bottom of my gelato filled heart :).  Yesterday was quite the adventure.  We started off at a 1pm flight from Omaha to Chicago, from there, we had about a 5 hour layover then took off at 8pm and about 8hrs later we landed in Munich, Germany.  Then from there it was a short hop, skip, and a jump to Rome where I am now!!!
When we got back we went to our hotel and then walked up to the basilica near by and sang some pieces (which wasn't on the schedule).  Then a very short night walk around the area.
The next day (today) we had our big date at St. Peters Vatican.
This is us in front of the Vatican!
This was our attire for singing for mass at the St. Peters Vatican! Don't judge.

We did a walking tour of Rome, basically.  It was quite the walk.  Not only was the walk long and strenuous, it rained, complete downpour for most of the time.  This is just a bit off subject, but when you buy an really nice wind breaker and you don't understand why you paid so much for such a thin sheet of fabric, well, now I realized why;  I was dry the whole time, and it kept my camera dry too.  Anyways, we say basically everything that there was to see in about a couple hours.  It was simply gorgeous, the structures were beyond imaginable--nothing like any visible media obviously.
The video that I have up is one of our songs, Sanctus, is what we are singing in the Santi Giovanni e Paolo church.  We walked in, basically because it was a complete down pour, and asked if we could sing a song.  Let me tell you, the acoustics in these churches are phenomenal!  Words can't describe what you can hear! Even last night at the basilica, I didn't know what to expect.
We arrived at the St. Peters Vatican and we had to go through security in order to get in.  We sang at the 5pm mass.

It. Was. Beautiful.
This is the back of the Vatican.  The black pillars is where St. Peters tomb is.
This is where the main mass is held.  To the left is were we sang.
It was breath taking, every detail of it.  The aesthetics of everything was overwhelming.

I really don't have any details for tomorrow, other than traveling by train to Latisana.  That'll be very interesting, I have never traveled by train--I have always wanted too.  But unit then, my feet hurt, I have pictures to edit, and I'm craving gelato!

God be with you...
